Erbas, I (2013) Construction management project delivery system as a form of project implementation in Turkish public procurement. PhD thesis, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey.
Abstract
This thesis aims to detect the principles and recommendations for implemantation of Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) Project Delivery System in the construction of public buildings, which are carried out in accordance with the Turkish Public Procurement Law (KIK). The contract documents, which are prepared by AIA and ConsensusDOCS, have been compared with KIK contract documents in terms of design and construction services. In consequence of this comparision between the two systems, specific differences of CMc project delivery system have been identified. The principles and recommendations, which are related to changes in KIK bidding and contracting documents for using CMc project delivery system in implementation of design and construction services, have been determined. To ensure the validity of these principles and recommendations, the principles and recommendations in related laws and regulations have been also determined in the scope of this thesis. The principles and recommendations that presented at the result of this study, constitute the first and the most important step for practice of CMc Project Delivery System in construction of public buildings, which are carried out in accordance with KIK.

N.B. Descriptive scope is a count of how many of the five facets of empirical research are indicated by the words used in title, abstract and keywords. It is not intended as a judgement on the research; merely a count of the kind of word we would expect to indicate Phenomenon, Concepts, Theoretical framing, Empirical techniques, Analytical techniques. If all five are present, then a code of “5 PCTEA” will indicate this. If you feel the coding for this record is questionable, we welcome discussion around the terms we matched or the way we categorized them. The facet you would expect may not be coded, or a facet may be coded inappropriately. This can also bear on a larger question, of which facets should be treated as defining in construction management research. Please get in touch, and we will look at it. More details here
