Sadri, S L (1993) An integrated information system for building construction projects. PhD thesis, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
Abstract
The process of building construction for a building project has been investigated. The minimum and necessary tasks that the owner of a building project must fulfil to execute the processes of planning, commissioning the design, and starting construction of the project have been identified. The primary task model for a building project developed. An analysis of the primary task model determined the information categories that support the activities of the primary task model. A conceptual data model which employs the IDEF1x data modeling technique is developed based on the primary task model analysis. The primary task model can be used for evaluating the owner's organization with regard to its ability to provide information required for the planning, the design, and construction processes. The conceptual data model is a framework for developing integrated databases that will provide a means by which the various disciplines involved in building construction projects can share information.

N.B. Descriptive scope is a count of how many of the five facets of empirical research are indicated by the words used in title, abstract and keywords. It is not intended as a judgement on the research; merely a count of the kind of word we would expect to indicate Phenomenon, Concepts, Theoretical framing, Empirical techniques, Analytical techniques. If all five are present, then a code of “5 PCTEA” will indicate this. If you feel the coding for this record is questionable, we welcome discussion around the terms we matched or the way we categorized them. The facet you would expect may not be coded, or a facet may be coded inappropriately. This can also bear on a larger question, of which facets should be treated as defining in construction management research. Please get in touch, and we will look at it. More details here
