Dutra, Clezio Thadeu de Souza (2016) Sustainable public bidding for engineering works and services. PhD thesis, Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil.
Abstract
The environmental damage resulting from engineering works and services has made over time several norms and resolutions that regulate and direct the sector's performance. This thesis presents the novelty of an investigation of how, in practice, sustainability requirements in Brazilian legislation, public policies and environmental legislation influence the participation of construction companies in bidding processes of engineering works and services, from the perspective of the professionals of the Brazilian construction companies, And systematizes as a project the participation of these companies in sustainable bidding processes. The results show the tendency of entrepreneurs to consider high the difficulty in implementing the main sustainability requirements set forth in Brazilian environmental legislation for bidding processes for construction works and services and that environmental legislation does not adequately comply with its protection role To the environment, increases the possibility of delays and costs of construction projects and services and makes difficult the emergence of solutions that would solve environmental problems.

N.B. Descriptive scope is a count of how many of the five facets of empirical research are indicated by the words used in title, abstract and keywords. It is not intended as a judgement on the research; merely a count of the kind of word we would expect to indicate Phenomenon, Concepts, Theoretical framing, Empirical techniques, Analytical techniques. If all five are present, then a code of “5 PCTEA” will indicate this. If you feel the coding for this record is questionable, we welcome discussion around the terms we matched or the way we categorized them. The facet you would expect may not be coded, or a facet may be coded inappropriately. This can also bear on a larger question, of which facets should be treated as defining in construction management research. Please get in touch, and we will look at it. More details here
