Abstract
In the current scenario of the construction industry, several constraints, including schedule, scope and specially cost, have a direct impact in the quality of the products delivered by those companies. For this reason, it is justified the need for innovative methods for value management in the sector, from the perspective of customers and end users. In construction, higher value-added delivery products through design process often runs into investor restrictions and the difficulties imposed by a fragmented product development process, where individual interests of the parties represents obstacles to the possibility of collaboration. These characteristics make the application of "Target Value Design" (TVD) - a cost management approach that privileges the customer value delivery process - an alternative to promote changes in project process management. The objective of this research is to develop an adapted TVD model and guidelines for the adoption of TVD into the design process, specifically for products with units for sale, using as methodological approach the Design Science Research (DSR) and Case Study as a data collection strategy. As results, the research proposes a model for the adoption of the guidelines of TVD adapted to the domain of real estate with units for sale. Furthermore, a conceptual structure of TVD through a conceptual map was elaborated, helping in the understanding its constructs and relations between them through a graphic and visual approach, besides the proposition of a strategic plan from the guidelines for TVD adoption.

N.B. Descriptive scope is a count of how many of the five facets of empirical research are indicated by the words used in title, abstract and keywords. It is not intended as a judgement on the research; merely a count of the kind of word we would expect to indicate Phenomenon, Concepts, Theoretical framing, Empirical techniques, Analytical techniques. If all five are present, then a code of “5 PCTEA” will indicate this. If you feel the coding for this record is questionable, we welcome discussion around the terms we matched or the way we categorized them. The facet you would expect may not be coded, or a facet may be coded inappropriately. This can also bear on a larger question, of which facets should be treated as defining in construction management research. Please get in touch, and we will look at it. More details here
