Abstract
This thesis addresses critical information exchange challenges in road infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand, highlighting inefficiencies due to outdated systems and approaches. By extending Building Information Modelling (BIM) to the data handover stage, the study significantly enhances asset management practices. This research develops a harmonised road asset object model based on existing standards, serving as the foundation for CONie (Construction to Operation for Network information exchange)—a novel data exchange specification tailored for linear infrastructure asset management.
