Abstract

This thesis examines decision-making in concrete construction, focusing on selecting between in-situ and precast concrete methods. Through literature review, surveys, and case studies, it identifies key decision factors, industry trends, and stakeholder roles. Using the Entropy-TOPSIS method, a decision-support model was developed to assist professionals in evaluating construction methods based on project-specific priorities. Findings emphasize scheduling, quality, environmental considerations, and logistical challenges. Validated through case studies in Queensland, the model enhances efficiency, sustainability, and project outcomes. This research bridges the gap between traditional and off-site construction, contributing to improved decision-making in the construction industry.
